New York Fashion Week : 2017Ah, NYFW my favorite week of the year. I was able to attend NYFW the second time and once again has been an amazing experience. I put together a small guide to share my wonderful experience for newcomers, enjoy! ArrivingOnce you arrive from your flight to NYC, be sure to prepare your transportation. Waiting last minute can get you desperate like me and end up paying over $100 for a taxi. If you're not a subway, and bus type of person like me I would suggest downloading the Via app when you arrive. I used the Via App for my transportation around NYC and it was awesome not having to use any subways. I spent $70 for a weeks worth of unlimited car rides. It was way to cold outside to be walking around anyway! PreparationBe sure to prepare your outfits before you leave. I love planning my outfits together so I don't have to deal with over packing. Something I also suggest doing is when you arrive at your hotel, unpack everything and organize! I organized by outfits for each day and laid out my accessories and shoes. Im super happy my hotel room had lots of closet room and room space to spread things around! For my visit in NYC, I had stayed at Hotel 48Lex. I believe what made my trip even better was where I stayed. The staff was so kind and helpful. They start to know you by your name when you walk out or in to the hotel so you're not just any guest to them. My room was perfect. It had a lovely view of the city all around the room. After a long day, I loved sitting in bed and watching the city lights out the window. Something to keep in mind is where your hotel is located. Its important to choose a hotel that is near your shows since sometimes it could be difficult being over 30 minutes - an hour away from your shows and trying to make it on time not knowing how traffic will be like. Hotel 48Lex luckily was right by all my shows and was a walking distance to Times Square and Central Park! Im such a messy person when it comes to getting ready, so it was great coming back to the hotel every night seeing the room perfectly spotless thanks to the staff! One more thing, when picking a hotel, stay away from sketchy ones that are underpriced. You want to make sure you wake up with good breakfast and a comfortable bed so you look happy and bright in all your street photos! You can find my hotels Instagram here and their website here OutfitsHere is a slide show of some of the outfits I wore to NYFW. I didn't want to be to extreme with my selections. I did test some styles out and ended up loving them. I also loved the overalls that I was wearing until I realized I looked like a minion in the photo, how embarrassing! I gathered up a few photos of some of my favorite outfits this NYFW season. The reason why I chose these particular outfits is because these woman are representing their own style. They aren't just styling to impress. Their outfits are simple yet edgy. They individually have their own personal touch which I totally look up to! You want to make sure you are wearing outfits that truly represent your style and not wear something that makes you look like a walking run-way show. Photographers love it best when you show off your true taste in clothing. You don't need to wear the best thing to stand out. Sometimes all it takes is you feeling comfortable in your own unique style. Hope you guys enjoyed this post! If you haven't been to NYFW and think that you need to have 100,000 followers on instagram to get invited, you're wrong. I had a friend who was recieving invites with 2000 followers on instagram. Just work on your content and if you have a good amount of likes per photo and have a taste for fashion, you can get invites easily. Just email the Prs for each brand and request invites which you can find here. Hope this helps for next season!
